Welcome!

We are now enrolling for Preschool and Kindergarten

for the 2009-2010 school year.

The Front Range Waldorf School provides a nurturing environment that sets the foundation for a life-long love of learning. Children's early years are filled with joy and exuberance. In a small class setting, a Waldorf teacher leads the children in a kind, conscious and loving manner. Creative play, imagination and movement characterize daily life in a Waldorf classroom. Every day the children play circle games that include skipping, clapping, hopping and singing. Around the room are baskets of wooden blocks, logs, cloths, woolen animals and child-sized pots & pans. Each day the children have time for free play, in which they use these simple props to create stories, dramas and games. There is also a daily story time when the children gather in a circle to hear the teacher tell a fairy tale or watch a simple puppet play. Children do basic tasks such as organic cooking, gardening, painting, sewing and hiking.

Waldorf schools strive to awaken and encourage exploration. Learning becomes much more than memorizing facts - learning becomes an engaging voyage to discover the world and oneself. Parents and community members are invited and encouraged to become involved in school activities and assisting with school festivals and events. The collective effort of teachers, parents and school board members creates a richer educational experience.
